ABOUT THE COURSE

Bachelor of Art in History is a three year degree programme. The study of History has been sometimes classified as a part of humanities and at other times as a part of social science. History comprises the study of evolution of human civilizations across ages i.e. from pre-historic to the present times. Historical study often focuses on past periods, geographical locations, regions, religions, world etc. History is a tool to foster nationalism and patriotism and make students aware of the national heritage.

WHY HISTORY

History plays an important role in career because of its significance in various competitive exams such as civil services, SSC, Judiciary services and UPSC. Interviews of all civil service exams and other governmental services are framed around historical aspects of the nation. History graduates may pursue higher studies and enter into academics and research prospects. They may opt for professional courses in education to become teachers at school/college level. Besides, students may indulge themselves in literary professionals such as editors, communicator etc.

B.A (History) 2nd year

Paper – 1 Political History of Medieval India (1526 to 1740 A.D.)
Paper – 2 History of Europe (1789 to 1870 A.D.)

B.A (History) 3rd year

Paper – 1 History of Modern India (1740 to 1964 A.D.)
Paper – 2 History of Europe (1871 to 1950 A.D.)
Paper – 3 History of Indian Culture
